Lingual Braces
Lingual (or invisible) braces are placed behind the teeth making them the ultimate in aesthetic orthodontic appliances. They are not readily visible under normal circumstances. It is now possible to achieve the same predictable high quality results we expect from conventional braces.
However, you should be aware that initially your speech will be affected. Generally you will adapt to this fairly quickly and your speech will return to normal. You may also experience tongue irritation and difficulty when eating, but once again you will adapt to this.
You will need full records of photos, x-rays and study models taken. These will then be sent to either Australia or America in order for the lingual braces to be made specifically for you. These lingual braces will take several weeks to arrive.
Once the braces arrive an appointment will be scheduled to have them fitted. Due to the complexity of this procedure the appointment will be scheduled for at least 1 hour. Following this we will need to see you approximately every 8 weeks with the duration of each adjustment appointment being approximately 30 minutes. The treatment is more complex than normal braces and accordingly will carry a greater overall cost. Due to the high laboratory component with this type of brace we require a deposit prior to commencement of treatment.
