IMPORTANT UPDATE REGARDING RICCARTON ORTHODONTIC PRACTICE:

As you’re all aware, in mid-December we relocated premises from our building, AMI House, following an unfavourable engineers report. The building, like many other buildings outside the CBD, has been classified as earthquake prone. AMI has yet to inform us of their intentions with regard to the building; however at the very least the building will require significant strengthening work.

Since December we have been extensively investigating all avenues available to us to identify a new alternative permanent premise.  However as many of you will be aware, commercial rental properties in Christchurch are hard to come by, and given the current size of our practice we are unable to relocate to a residential area which reduces our options as well.

Our aim was to find somewhere where we could relocate our entire practice, however unfortunately we have been unable to find new premises of an appropriate size.  As a result, we have made the very hard decision to split the practice and form two new practices which will operate from two separate locations.

Peter has found premises in Ilam and Russell has found premises in Fendalton.  Marguerite had the luxury of choosing between the two premises and has decided that the premises in Ilam best suit her needs so she will be working from there.  Therefore from 1 June 2012 Riccarton Orthodontic Practice will be replaced by:

Christchurch Orthodontics Ltd

Dr Russell Lovatt will be practicing from 157 Fendalton Road.  Russell hopes to be up and running in his new location in July

Ilam Orthodontics Ltd

Dr Peter Fowler and Dr Marguerite Crooks will be practicing from 3 Clyde Road.  Peter hopes to have the new location up and running by June.

We will keep you informed of our progress into our new locations, however until the time each practice becomes operational, we will continue to see patients from our temporary premises at both the Carlton Dental Centre, 24 Papanui Road, and OrthodontiX Merivale, 363 Papanui Road.
